What is so special about the closing of a year and the start of a new one?  Nothing, really.

A year is a neat packet of time. Twelve months. Fifty-two weeks. Three hundred sixty-five days. Eight thousand seven hundred sixty hours. We’ve lifted this packet up, though, and made it special with annual grand celebrations marked with fireworks, ball drops, and indulgent parties.  During this time of year we stop to remember all that happened in those days and months and we set our sights on changes to be made in the year to come.  We could, and possibly should, take time to reflect on what has transpired and what we’ve achieved at the end of every day, every week, or every month.  What if we did that?  What would our year ends look and feel like then?  How would society improve, differ, and change? How much more would we have to celebrate on New Year’s Eve?  How much more would we have to look forward to on New Year’s Day?

This year are you committed to setting and reaching your goals?  If so, how about committing to a weekly, or at least monthly, reflection on what you’ve accomplished, on what you hoped to, but didn’t, and on planning for the following week or month to enhance your efforts to reach your goals.  If you do this, I know you’ll be amazed with your results and with the changes you experience in your life. I can’t wait to hear what those changes are.  Comment below, when you start seeing them.
